Am I crazy for selling my 4x12 to downsize to a 2x12? I had the 4x12 for about 2 or so years and within that time I only had moved it about 6 times and it got to be such a pain in the ass considering the thing weighed 130 lbs and was big and bulky. I decided to downsize to a 2x12 because its not to big or bulky and its alot more portable and I would like to take my Mesa to jam with people. Anyone else ever downsized from a 4x12 to a 2x12 because of the portability issue?

Not at all, I prefer a 2x12 over a 4x12 by far. I used to have a bulky rack setup and a 4x12 cab, now I have a head/2x12/pedal board, and it's much easier to transport .

Plus if you really just need 4 speakers, you can get a spare 2x12.

I'm a part-time roadie for my uncle's band, and considering that every motherf*($$(% place they play has about a zillion stairs, and the bass player uses a 4X10 ampeg, a Peavey 220 watt head and an Ampeg 1X15 combo, and the guitarist uses a Mesa Mark III 1X12, a Mesa 1X12 cab, a Roland JC90 2X10, and another 1X12 cab..... I wish there were more people like you

ive been without those other 2 speakers for a while and ill never go back. ive been using a fender vibroking 2x12 with a g12h and v30 for a couple years now and it sounds just great

I love 2x12'' combos myself. Carrying around a bigger speaker setup just isn't realistic for my type of playing environments and the fact that I have to fit all my gear in a Honda Civic doesn't help
