I picked up a copy of UK Guitarist the other day, and it had an interview with Trevor Wilkinson. There were a couple of very interesting new products mentioned:

-A low cost tuner that has two holes, thus 'locking' the string to pitch with half a wind without complex, expensive locking mechanisms.

...and the biggie:

-A trem bridge that has small motors in the bridge block that can tune the strings up to pitch (or Eb, or drop D...) in seconds. Apparently this baby enters the market late this year. It looks like a regular wilkinson bridge, but has an LED readout on the side of the bridge above the low 'e' saddle. There wasn't any good photos of the prototype, but there was one good snap of the office, showing cad drawings of the bridge and tuning motors. looks like a very cool piece of kit indeed. Apparently 5 years in the making...

Pick up the Guitarist if you're interested, because I can't find anything online about it. This could be the next big thing in guitar hardware...

the Guitarist mag was the Pete Townshend cover...
