Hey guys, So on my Gamp;L i have three GBlade pickups in it, I like the the blade's in the neck and bridge, but I want a more vintagey middle position as I like a notch position to be more SRV\Gilmourish and the blade's I have are just not single coily enough, what do you recommend?

im looking at putting an ssl-4 flat wound in the neck and middle positions, what do you guys think?
I can only add a little bit here. I have a set of SSL-4's in my Tele-clone, and as much as I like them . . . I wouldn't call them quot;vintagequot;. They're very high-output, and have a touch of humbucker tone to them. If you get the quot;tappedquot; versions, you can dial them down to closer to vintage, but they still don't have quite the same chime as the SSL-1's I've tried.
Just my 2-cents worth.
So what would you recommend for a more vintagy jangly single coil?
i really liked the classic stack single coil i put in my strat for the middle position. i always mixed it with the quarter pounder in the neck. i think the best way i could describe would be round and warm. just a nice clean sound.
*edit* lookin at ur comment, it wasnt really a jangly sound. maybe a duckbucker? never had one but have heard good things.
Well hmmmm, im not sure if jangle is the right word, like I said, looking for an SRV\David Gilmour vibe

I've got SSL-1's in the middle and neck of my Legacy and it covers that sort of ground perfectly IMO. A bit more drive and you get a Hendrix vibe. Lovely sounding pickups.
How can I balance the output of the SSL1 with the Blade's as I would imagine they aren't going to be the same output . . .
