Hey has anyone out there had any experience with the GFS P-90 pickups?
I have been saving my pennies to buy the SD Antiquity P-90's and then I discovered the Guitar Fetish website...
I mean I want the BEST sounding vintage P-90's... but with the Antiquitys costing over $100 each PUp and the GFS ones $34 each... thats a lot of savings in the 'hard-cash' dept.
This company is unknown to me, I have never heard of GFS pickups until today.
Are they good product? or are they cheap imports marketed to seem like a great deal?

I've never tried the GFS pickups, but I have the stock Gibsons in my LP Special DC and I love them to death. Mind you, I play with boutique gear almost exclusively (that includes boutique pickups like Wagner Custom Rewinds and Harmonic Design), but I love the stock Gibsons to no end. Perfect clarity, sustain and growl of a great p90 and I don't feel I need to invest money in custom Wolfetone pickups or Lollars or Fralins etc.
Antiquities definitely have the mojo. If you want something ballsier, the Lollars are pretty intense. A5 mags in those. Weird that they have no baseplates. The magnets are just glued onto the bottom of the bobbin. strange design.
chris, are those stock gibsons A2 or A5?
GFS's are damn good pickups, I don't own any, but I've talked to hundreds of people who have used em and I've never heard 1 unhappy person.
For what it's worth -- I've got the GFS Dream 90s in one of my guitars -- they're bucker-size p-90s -- they look good and sound good, and the guys at the shop were I have all my guitar work done were raving about them.
I have a set of the bigmouth humbuckers and they are heavenly.
