anyone ever use one with a champ?
I have one that I use with my DSL50 and it's fantastic for home playing and jamming and recording,You can really let the tubes cook and not deafen yourself, Tho it will loose tone the more attenuation you give it and since the speakers won't be moving as much air etc..etc.. It obviously wont sound as good as it Let Loose on full volume but its a pretty convenient comprimise
I agree with everything stevo said. I use one on my rectoverb at home and it sounds great. They also have a treble boost switch and line out that you can use for direct recording. Pretty cool.
I gotta ask? Why would need one with a champ??

I dunno about you tho but anytime I have the MASS quot;ONquot; ie. attenuating, I HAVE to use the Treble switch ,If I dont it just sounds like its under about 2 tonnes of Pillows, The same when i Switch the MASS off, I have to turn the Treble switch off because it then also sounds like its under pillows,, kinda strange me thinks..
But it works!!!
I use the Mini-Mass 50 with my Classic 30's OD channel and it works great. I borrowed a THD Hotplate from a friend to try, but it was'nt the right attenuator for my amp.

Same here. I always run it with the boost on. That boost switch is definitely vital to getting the best sounds out of the mass. On there web site (at least on their old site)they say something about when the amp goes through the attenuator it dissapates some of the treble frequency so I guess that's the reason why.
I have one. I've tried it with my 18 watt Deluxe. Never with my Champ!
I think the Mass sounds best at reasonable volume levels. If you dime your amp and then turn the Mass down to 2 or so the tone is useful but not especially smooth or pleasing.
I think the best use of the Mass would be onstage where your amp is just a little to much for the gig and you want to attenuate the signal just enough to get a good rock tone at a decent volume but not super low bedroom levels.
The Mass will take a 100 watt amp and bring it down to bedroom levels but I wouldn't want to record with that tone...

I never use the boost on mine, how quiet are you running them? I am always over 4 on it and found the bright switch to be un-needed. I suppose at high attenuation levels it would be helpful. With a Champ, as was asked, how come?
Don't have a Champ, but the Weber Mini-Mass with the treble boost switch works like a champ with my Blues Jr. (couldn't resist the bad pun)
I agree with the comments about the treble switch amp; about the tone when you crank it down past 3 or so. Still, it's great for getting power tube distortion in a residential neighborhood

just curious if anyone used it on a small amp and when i was browsing there site one of the accesories where hook ups for camps.
