Can you use a Weber 25w mini mass or the Low Power Load Dump and run it with a lower powered amp?
Like a 15 watt fender combo? My buddy is using one of these amps and its just way to loud cranked for the places we play we were just looking for a way to bring it down without major expence.
Also I was looking into one so I can test my amp with out having to listen to it. My amp is 6 watt fender champ. Also I think that my amp is rated at 3.2 ohms I dont remeber and I'm not near it to go look. Would it be safe to run it with the 4 ohm model mini mass?
Thanks!
edm
Yes it would be safe..
Just don't exceed the 50W rating( even though I do)
It has an impedance selector
Use the 4 ohm setting and if you can swin the extra $$$ go for the Mini Mass...the Dump Loads work but they do colour the tone a bit...the Mass will change your tone a little but the Dump Load is worse. And, yes the Mini Mass will work for anything from a Champ up to a 50 watt amp if you get the 50 watt versionOriginally Posted by ericmeyer4Can you use a Weber 25w mini mass or the Low Power Load Dump and run it with a lower powered amp?

Absolutely on all counts!
That exactly what it's for....so you can saturate the tubes without knocking the neighbor out of his LazyBoy!
As for the impedence question, the 3.2 ohms close enough to the 4ohm that it shouldn't matter....and as long as it's less, you're good.
If you're gonna get a MASS, it's worth the extra money to get an impedence selector, which allows you to switch between 2/4/8/16ohms....so you can use the same MASS with other cabs amp; amps!
thanks for all the replies! so no problems running the 4 ohm mass with a champ good. I assume it would be fine to keep the 3.2 ohm speaker plugged into the mass while it is plugged into the champ?
Thanks again for answering my questions,
edm
What you do is plug the guitar into the front or input of the amp...you take the 1/4quot; plug that normally goes from the speaker to the amp amp; plug that INto the MASS, then you take an unshielded 1/4quot; plug/cable OUT of the MASS amp; into the amp where that speaker plug would've went.
Ive had my Mini Mass 50 watt since i got my Laney. Its one hell of a good investment right there.
