From Price Issues (I won't be able to afford an orange for ages) I am gonna go with the laney VC30 212 what do people think is it any good or should i just save up for the orange

Alot of what your are dealing here is how this amp will satisfy you.

It is a good classic rock amp, has alot of sparkle, and with a speaker change gets very close to the VOX sound.

That being said, if you are looking for an Orange, get an Orange. They are great amps. I am not one for quot;settlingquot; for something else.

You will likely be comparing the VC to any Orange you see or hear, and it is an unfair comparison.

Save up, get what you want.

The Vox is class A,but what about the Orange? Class A also? or Class A/B?
Never settle...It'll come back later to haunt you!

Well I like the vox just wanted a bit more variety will the laney be closer to a vox than the orange

bump

I have heard that the VOX AC30CC hads relieability problems but have also heard it is better then the Laney.

I had a Laney VC30-210 which I liked a lot.

Don't know about the VOX. Listen to the Laney and to the VOX and decide if the features you want will be satisfied by the Laney. If not, don't buy it.

Relying on other people's opinions will not help much, because they are only personal judgments and don't necessarily reflect YOUR preferences...

Good luck.

30wt or 20wt Crate Vintage Club

the problem is no guitar shops have both and i live in the country so i barely eva get to test out amps. Does anyone have head to head clips or know where i can get them?

I played a VC30 in a shop and it sounded very nice. I came close to buying it but ended up not. It sounds very close to a Vox. It has amazing clean sounds, but for distortion, you may need a pedal. I haven't played an Orange amp, but from what I've heard, they have a different sound. What you need to do is decide if you want the Vox sound or Orange sound. The Laney would be an excellent substitute for the Vox, but maybe not an Orange.

This site has lots of amp clips. from : localhost/click on audio demos. They're not the best clips in the world, but they may give you an idea of what sound you're looking for. If you're unsure as of now, don't rush into anything. Just take your time and make sure you're getting the right one for you.

I have an Orange AD30 and it's a great amp for the sound I want.

It seems to have a 'Sparkle' to it when it's set clean and has a great gritty Overdrive tone to it when you crank the gain on it.

Imo, Orange amps have a sound all their own, and that sound either works for you or it doesn't. For me, it does

Have you considered a Vox VTH 60. This is the 60 watt valvetronics head. It does a very nice AC30 as well as an AC15 as well as a recto as well as a marshall as well as you name it. At $450. it would be hard to top.

but its moddeling (the best ive heard) but is it the same as the real thing

What abput those new crate V3112 (EL84, Class A)

get a laney 212 and put 2 celestion blue's in there, and some Nos Mullurds, or JJ's tubes. mmmmmmm

The Crate V32, basicly the same amp, has a great overdrive channel, but I feel it's more Marshall-sounding. Kind of a cross between Marshall-and-Vox. Overall a great amp, and with an Eminence Red Fang speaker, JJ Tubes, and some good preamps you should have a very Voxy sounding amp.

Is the clean channel voxy like , id looking for a more marshall and vox dirty channel (think orange) something smooth capable of black sabbath and zeppelin and some metal with a BOOST pedal
