I just recently placed a 59'B in my les paul. And was curious which is better to have, single conductor wiring or four conductor wiring? Does either one give a different sound?

The sound won't be different if you wire the 4 conductor unit to operate solely in normal series humbucker operation. I like 4 conductor though, because it gives you more wiring choices (parallel, split, out of phase).

Thanks, I appreciate the info.

The out of phase with itself is awesome for a chimey glasyy clean sound. Listen to Robert Plant's quot;Ship of Foolsquot;.

Another reason I like 4 conductor is that soldering jobs are easier. You don't have that metal braiding to try and connect it to the pot. You just dip the skinny leads in the wet solder.....much easier.
