anyone tired a jumbo taylor acoustic guitar r any jumbo acoustics? I realy liek them but im not sure how they feel when standing up and playing, as they are somewhat bigger than the deranaught im used to but they sound nicer. Im only 5'6 so do you think the jumbo is too big for me?
Any thoguhts and opinions on jumbos are appreciated cheers.
Im really debating on acoustics btw i justr ecieved a cheque for a sweet 200 so im even closer to getting me my taylor.
I've played my buddy Keith's Martin Jumbo Mahogany many times and I've got say that it's one of the most comfortable playing(sitting or standing), best sounding, and LOUDEST acoustics that I've ever had the privilage of playing. And it keeps getting better and better the older and more played it gets. Don't let the name Jumbo fool you, they are not as big and bulky as one would think. I'm a short guy and it fits me very well.
My wife's cousin's ex husband [whew!] had a rosewood jumbo cutawayTaylor that I loved playing and listenening to. I sure wish they'd patch it up, I miss that guitar......
i have a guild 1972 Jumbo 12. it is the holy grail of 12 strings! so smooth, so sweet! If you want a smoother more quot;angelicquot; sounding guitar where the notes sort of blend together in a comfortable way, go jumbo!
I think of Jumbo's as more quot;bootyliciousquot; than anything.. they've got a lot of junk in the trunk, but it's actually pretty thin where you play. I've never found my Tacoma to be uncomfortable in the least.
That said, I love the sound.. mine really seems to project, and has a real nice bass character to it that I've never found in a smaller body acoustic. It's a very full, rich sound.
hmmm after trying out a few jumbos recently im really hooked on the sound, i tried a giuld jumbo jf30 acoustic made of maple sides and back, and spruce top i think it played most well! I hope it looks proportionate to me haha Im really hoping i get to try out a 615ce taylor someday it is awesome!
