I'm installing a new switch on my pickup booster. It looks much different than the previous one. Can somebody please post a pic of the wireing of this. It will be much appriciated and save alot of frustration.
My SFX-01 has had the switch replaced, but my digital camera is horrible for close-ups. I hope this helps:The 5 wires coming off the circuit board are:
A: brown
B: black
C: yellow
D: blue
E: white
The switch goes left to right:
F, C, D
A, B, E
(jumper goes from F to E - across top left corner to bottom right corner.)
Hope that makes sense.
Artie
Thanks alot man. You just saved me so much time, you have no idea.
hmmm... didn't work, maybe i have the switch backwards, would that matter?

It shouldn't. The switch should be symmetrical. I just double-checked mine. The pic is ok.
Here's the layout again, in a different way. On the switch, left to right, starting at the top:
F. Jumper to opposite corner (E), yellow (C), blue (D)
Brown (A), black (B), white (E and other end of jumper)
Check again. We'll get this.
One more thing, try the pedal out before you put the bottom back on. If that works, I'll tell you why.
It works, but it's always on, when i hit the switch, it stays on.

Ok, let me do this - tomorrow, I'll take a better pic with a buddy's camera, and I'll trace out the wires with a meter and tell you what should be happening where. The trouble is, you may need a meter to find the problem. Is your switch new? I'm just wondering if you got a bad one. Not likely though.
After I take some readings, it'll be easier for me to pinpoint possible problems.
Edit: And one last thought: I know this'll sound dumb, but you are mashing the switch solidly, right? That switch takes a pretty good quot;clickquot; to activate it.
i really doubt it's a bad switch, seymour duncan sent it to me. Maybe the soldering is bad. I'm going to do it again and make sure everything connects.
Well that didn't work. I need a new wire. One of them is too short and isn't connecting. Where can i get a wire, and what kind is it specifical, is there anything else i can do. It's the jumper that's short.
Its all very low-level signals, so the wire won't really matter. Just some general purpose 22-gauge Radio Shack will work.
Well then i got a problem. I need to take this pedal to somebody and have somebody smarter than me do this. I just don't know enough about electronics to see what is wrong.
Can anybody give me some advice on what to do? It needs to be rewired to the switch, I did that, but in the process some wires came off the circut board. I just don't know enough about electronics to fix it all. What approach should i take to fixing this?
Hey jm; whats your physical location? Is this the type of thing where you could just send it to me? I'd be happy to fix it for you for free, if you don't mind covering shipping both ways. Whether or not thats practical depends partly on if you're in Alabama or Australia?
Let me know. (PM, if you like.)

I am in knoxville, tn. I'm going to try to fix it in the next few days. I've given up on it for the moment. If i can't get it working, i'd love to send it to you.

Send it to me and I'll mod your TS9DX and fix your wiring and switch on the SFX-01 for some pocket cash...
Artie is a heckuva great guy and very generous and helpful, but since you're sending me your Tube Screamer, you might as well send both pedals?

And just to add emphasis to that . . . John's the one who replaced the switch in mine. Even I know to call out the experts when the need calls.
