So how does that modded Boss GE7 work compared to your stock one? I mean the anticipation is not unlike waiting for the Heinz Ketchup to come out of the bottle....Jesus,I'm not getting any younder brother! :fing25:

Hee hee....the wife had a migrane last night...so no guitar for me. I just finished up some work, and am heading upstairs right now.

Rid, not yet, but I am still eyeing the Plexidrive very hard. I was actually planning to start a seperate thread about this, and may still. My main concern with a pedal that has a boost function built in is this....does the boost signal work better in front of the amp, or in the effects loop, for the least amount of noise and feedback? I'm concerned that I'll get a ton of feedback with all of that signal hitting the front end of my JCM800.

What are your thoughts?

Hehe thoughts...
Ah well that depends I guess, if you want to hit the amp with alot of boost(which it can provide in plenty) noise always increases, but that also depends on how your stuff is running, do you want the boost as a small lift or a frontend slammer, well personally I run my amps clean, the plexi has no problems using a clean amp, it just wants a good sound as foundation, it has plenty of gain to deliver for that reason, remember that I have used the big DR201 as base for some of my stuff...hehe
I use the boost for a slight lift, mostly for cleanstuff or with the crunch, never ever with the highgain channel, there is no need on the latter.

Yeah, what I'm really looking for in the boost function is just that, a little extra volume and saturation for lead stuff. As for the highgain function, I doubt I'd use that much. I imagine myself using the crunch setting to kick the JCM's distortion up a bit, and to saturate that a tad more for some stuff. I don't need or want a front end slammer, as my Marshall is a 2 channel version.

Perhaps I would use crunch, highgain and boost just into the clean channel, I'd have to see, but really looking for something to add to the amps flavor, something in the plexi vein.

Hmm all those pre thought out stuff
You'll probally end up with an OCD instead...hehe
Well the best thing I can suggest is to try one, the Plexi really likes Marshalls and other Brit voiced amps.
And the highgain is not insane more than it is fat and clear.
Most of them uses a -15volts powersupply with alot of filtering caps, lots of big headroom in those.
