I'm modding my Ibanez RG so it will have a Gibson style bridge instead of the floyd. Already glued in the wood and drilled the holes but now I wonder if the TOM needs a ground connection or not? The floyd had one but on my other 2 Gibson style guitars I see no bridge ground?
You should ground the tailpiece if you are using one with the bridge. If you are using a wrap around bridge, then yes, ground the bridge.
You don't see the ground wire on your Gibsons because they are compressed up against the high E side tailpiece bushing inside the guitar.

Any tips on how to pull that one off in my Ibanez? I mean how do they do that in Gibsons? Do they just drill a hole from the control cavity to the bottom of thebushing hole and press the bushing tight onto a wire?
Thats how they do it Night.
