And boy am I happy!!
I got a medium head and two 2x12 cabinets to go with it. Two independent channels with reverb on each as well.
I am not really a Mesa fan, but the Lonestar and the new Stiletto Deuce are truly something else from the company. The sound in this baby is great!!
I love the sound of EL 84's and the crunch and drive tones are amazing! With my Les Paul it can get really dirty and heavy, and it cleans up very well when turning down the volume. The cleans are more lika a Fender Blackface thing, and are just what I wanted.
5, 15 or 30w assignable power to each channel, so you can have the clean channel on 30w for bigger headroom, and down to 5w for the dirty one.
Can't wait 'till tomorrow as I got the day of, and my girl and my kids are out of the house.
sweet.
Enjoy mate.
can we have pics ????
I don't have a digital camera. Sorry! I'll see what I can do, though.
Yeah, the Lone Star Special impresses me more than the original one....the special has EL-84's. Also, the Stilletto's will be big sellers for Mesa.
I was talking to the Mesa rep at the Amp Show, and he said that they went through a lot of speakers, trying to find the right combination for their combos. They ended up with 2 Ceramics on the bottom, and 2 Alnico's on the top. Do you know what speakers came in your cabs. Were they specifically made for your head, or are they the regular Recto 2-12s?
They are Lonestar Classic cabs.

very cool Stringmaster! i've played one of those myself, they sound great indeed!
What kind of music do you play Stringmachine? When I hear the name Lonestar Classic and see pictures of the amp I think country music or Texas blues but then you have a BLS avatar.
Can that sucker produce Megadeth/Slayer type gain?? Looks like a nice amp man, congrats!
RGN: I dont use it for heavy distortion, as I already got a Soldano SLO 100 for that. It can get pretty dirty, if I want it too, though. I play mostly Classic/Southern rock, but love to go of with some BLS and Pantera stuff once in a while. My avatar is just to make people afraid of me!! Be very afraid!!!
Breogan: I'm sorry, didnt mean to!
Erlend_G: Sounded great, didnt it? By the way, the username is Stringmachine as in Bjørn Berge, not Stringmaster!!!!
Oh, sorry, just a spelling error .... my head isnt working properly these days
Yup, you could really hear the tubes working the tone, it just sang!
Nice score! -I tried the original lonestar and was only mildly impressed. I must try the special and see how it stacks up to my blue angel...

Cool. Do you play Freebird? I love that. Is southern rock big in Norway? That is pretty cool.... glad you dig it man.

Sure, Sweet Home Alabama, Workin' For MCA, Gimme Three Steps, Gimme Back My Bullets, Simple Man, as well as some newer stuff such as Smokestack Lightning and Pure amp; Simple from '91 i think?
No, southern rock is not big here, I'm sorry!
Here, it doesn't matter what kind of band is onstage: country, death metal, jazz.... Someone will yell quot;play Freebirdquot;. I was at a bar a couple years ago and this talented prog metal band was playing. They made the mistake of asking for a request. quot;Freebirdquot; quot;Freebirdquot; The leader looked down at his feet feeling frustrated and said quot;That damn old Freebird... don't know it, sorry quot;
I always wanted to play a metal version of it! Post some clips dude!! I'd love to hear a southern rock band from Norway. That kicks ass!
LOL
We havent recorded anything with that band, we're just goofing around at partys and some pubs. We dont even have a name for it, yet. Got another band going as well, more classic rock.
i've had my eye on that amp from the looks of its specs, but my local store (GC) only had a regular lonestar which didnt impress me ... i really have to get out to hear one ...
enjoy!
cheers
