Anyone ever use one of these? I was thinking about replacing my normal hardtail bridge with one of these, and was curious if the locking screws protruded through the baseplate.
good question since i'm contemplating using the trem version of that bridge on a new strat project i am working on but i can't decide....anyone ever try one of these either hardtail or trem?

The trem is probably no big deal, as the locking screws potentially have room to pass down into the block.

Here's a closeup of the hardtail on a Zachary. I can't tell, but *maybe* the bass plate is thick enough that locking screws don't have to pass through:

I really like the Gotoh-Wilkinson tremelo on my frankenstrat - especially with the lock-down saddles. That hardtail design is really clean and solid looking.

I didn't realize that GuitarElectronics was carrying bridges amp; stuff. With the saddles locked down to the bridge amp; string thru design, sustain ought to be great. It's not as pretty as a Hipshot hardtail, but maybe better functionality.

Well, my ABM Wilkinson style hardtail just arrive from GuitarElectronics.com. Looking over it, it's a finely made bridge. I really like how the saddles lock down. It might be nice if it had channels for the height adjustment screws. On the other hand, the lack of channels gives you the option of making string spread a little wider by fanning out the saddles.

As for the lock-down screws, the answer is quot;yes, they do protrude from the bridgequot;. However, if you are replacing a standard strat hardtail, and your saddles don't lie flat against the bridge, then this shouldn't be a problem. At worst, you might have to drill 6 tiny holes, no more than 1/8 of an inch deep for the screws to clear the top of the guitar.

Alas, when I tried it out on my Warmoth strat with their narrow spaced hardtail, the 3 scew holes were too close together on the ABM and didn't line up with the holes screwed into the body. They're off by 1 mm, which is awfully close, but would required dowelling and redrilling.

On the other hand, I got this bridge for my next project. If Warmoth won't drill all 3 holes, I'll have them drill the center hole and drill the remaining 2 myself. I'll then replace the saddles with a set of GraphTech Ghost piezo saddles designed for a Wilkinson trem.
