I like the Super Distortion in the bridge of my Strat but it seems like a lot of people who start with the SD end up using the JB for whatever reason...how are they pups different, and how would the JB be better? Just curious and all...

The jb has an alinco V manget while the super distortion has a ceramic magnet.
The super distortion has more mid's and a little more bass. the jb having more treble.
the jb is also hotter.

I doubt that the JB is hotter, but the rest of that sounds right. The JB doesn't feel hot at all, despite it's high output. Another reason why DC resistance can't accurately measure output.

I started with the Super Distortion.....started using a JB.....and now the JBs gone and I'm still using the Super Distortion.

I'm not sure why I like it better, I just do.

Coz it's got a cool name

Hmmm I dislike treble for this guitar so maybe I won't try the JB... thanks for the input dudes.

The JB is not hotter than the Super D. My preference between the two would really come down to the guitar its going in. Something with a Floyd and a light basswood body I would probably take the Super D in. While in mahogany I would probably take the JB.
