Hi guys
I'll install a jazz (neck) and a Jeff Beck (bridge) to my Les Paul. as I play heavy sounds and like bright and clear distortion, I think I should install 500k volume pots, but I'm not sure about the tone pots... some recommend 500k as Gibson did, some say 250k to get it not too trebely.
What would you recommend?
Thanks
Don

The general rule is that 500K is for Humbuckers and 250K is for single coil. Key word being quot;generalquot; rule.

I would go 500k, especially in a Les Paul, a naturally darker guitar. You can always turn down the tone pots and bleed off some treble if they are bright.

I asked this question a long time ago. It turns out that Seymour uses 250k in his own Tele-Gib. But Remember, it's ash. I'm using 250k for my Fred/PAF Pro combo and really like it. My guitar's body is basswood. You might try 500k all around and maybe install 250k tone pots. Just see what happens.
