anyone have any experience with this pedal...does it allow you to go from a dirty sound to quot;clean acousticquot; with a press of the footswitch...or do you need to use it through your clean channel?

Use it through the clean channel. My experience with this pedal was pretty good. To me it didn't turn my electric into an acoustic sounding guitar, but it came sort of close I guess. To me it added some serious treble and sparkle to my clean channel. But in short... no it wont turn your gain channel into a clean chennel when activated.

thanks B...i may try it out anyway...

I used it a lot for 2 different things:
- as acoustic simulator it does a neat job with the band - dont expect it to sound similar to an acoustic when played quot;unpluggedquot; and solo, but in the band it's ok
- twangy country and funky stuff. IMO that's the best field of application of this unit

it does a better job with a strat and chords, doesn't sound too good with high output pickups and pickued lines, unfortunately.

I pretty much agree with everything that's been said. In the mix of things, it'll sound good, but by itself...meh.

I couldn't stand it when I owned it. With humbuckers and a truly clean signal, you could get some decent piezo tones, but it's was extremely noisy. Any pedal that introduces as much buzz into the signal as that one just isn't useful IMHO.

the roland cubes have some kinda baby-version of this installed.
(at least they say it's a boss effect)
i like the roland version best when played with a neck humbucker.
sounds ****e with my singlecoils.

Sounded best for me with a Strat middle coil, but still not like an acoustic guitar. I fooled around with it for about a month and it's been back in the box for over a year.

bought a zoom g2 last week. the acoustic simulation on it sounds much better than the boss. and you can fatten it with some chorus and reverb

i bought one and it gave me a lot of hum when i played it so i returned to guitar center and asked for a new one so their like ok and then got home tyried that ac-2 and it gave me the same hum and screeches as the first one did...so i went back returned it and bought a distortion....don't know if it was just bad luck or really that bad because all other boss effects i have arer great in my opiniom
