Bit of a post, but please bare with me...
The store down the road is having a stocktake sale tomorrow. I was looking at the ESP Ltd MH-400 ( from : localhost/), and they offered it to me for $500 off the retail price ($1955 AUD), but I have to take it tomorrow if I want that price.
It's not really the price I was hoping to find, as I got my other LTD of slightly lower retail value for $900 on ebay, but deals like that don't come up very often.
My dad's gonna pay some though, so I will be paying $900.
It's not really the finish I was after, as it's dark green and you can't see the quilted top very well. It still looks pretty nice, but not as sleek as the blue one.
It played like a dream though and sounded the part too with the EMG 81 set. The Floyd stayed in tune perfectly.
Now... does anyone know anything about the quality of this guitar that I may not know? Should I snatch this up? I just need some more thoughts.
Try and reason with them and get the colour you want
The only problem is it's a stocktake. They're trying to get rid of it - they won't order in more stock and have it for the same price
what is a quot;stocktakequot; exactly? is it like a closeout or a clearance? i personally think that you could get it cheaper than 500 off retail for a guitar that retails for 2 grand. thats only 25% off and around here most music stores go that much or more off on just thier regular pricing, but with you being in australia, the dealer may have more in it, i would say if its not exactly what your after try makin em go even lower to get a really good deal. just my opinion.
Try to get it for free and then ask for a free setup....A stocktake sale's where they try to get rid of as much stock as possible at the end of the financial year so that they don't have to pay tax on it.
bump
why do u sell the H-400? i find it has a killer top!! and duncans instead of EMGS.
I´d let it slide.... It´s not the color you want, you obviously have one or two misgivings about it even after playing it: Not worth the cash.
I would never buy a guitar that´s not exactly what I want, because everything else just makes you unhappy and costs more in the long run or even mid term

1. If you had to add a volume knob or something to make it quot;perfectquot; that would be one thing, but at that price, don't settle, get what you want.
Besides, you'll get a hell of a lot more for your money if you buy used. You could get an older (real) ESP for WAAAAYYYY less. I see Mavericks and M-Is in the $400-600 dollar range quite often.
My philosophy is that unless you find no nagging flaws in this guitar (which you obviously do), you won't be happy with it.
Why spend a significant amount of money on buying something you won't find ideal as opposed to saving up for something you really want?
I'm sure most would echo these sentiments.

I'm never selling my H-400!!!
Just getting another one
Yeah, i agree with y'all. At that price I'd want to be 110% happy with it. No go.
Well, I'm in luck. I reasoned with them and they'll order in the other colour for the same price. I think I'll put a deposit on it.
