Okay, got her set up, so let me tell you about little Miss Korrie...

24.75 scale, 2 p90s, Korina wood semi hollow, one F-hole, two volumes, one tone, one 3 way switch, tone pros bridge and locking tail piece. Rosewood fretboard, double cutaway with excellent upper fret access.

Okay, got that out of the way. The two P90s are Seymour's Hot P90 neck and Custom P90 bridge. I will likely be putting in my Antiquity P90s in Alnico 2 to see if I can lower the output just a bit.

The guitar just rings out no matter what amp I run her into. Chimey as heck into the Franklin 2xEL84. The semi hollow thing is done right. There is a natural reverberation that seems to occur at most volume levels.

The neck is somewhere between a 50's and 60's les paul neck. Good sized, but not the baseball bat of my Les Paul reissues. The rosewood fretboard is nice and dark, dot inlays that look like real abalone to me. Fretwork is excellent. The part that blows me away is how slick the back of the neck is. I know the guy before me polished it up well, but as compared to the satin strat neck I've been messing with lately, the Hamer feels 10 times faster. The nut is some kind of black plastic material. It might be the weakest link of the guitar IMO. I'd like to have someone put a nice bone one in there at some point. Grover tuners, large buttons, I like em.

It came with an original Hamer hardshell case, but I think somewhere along its life, its case got mixed up with a bigger bodied Hamer. There is way too much room inside for the guitar to move around in. If I were to travel with it, I'd stuff some newspaper or cloth around the bouts. There is about an inch of room all the way around the lower part of the guitar. Not a big deal unless I was traveling with it fequently.

Some have claimed this guitar is neck-heavy. Not too bad for me, reminds me a bit of an SG in that regard, but not as pronounced.

With the tonepros and such, I got a great deal on this thing. The tone is bright and bouncy and full as a bullfrog huntin' junebugs on a summer night.

Good deal.

How does it compare to the McSoapy you had a while back?

Lighter, airier, snappier with a better neck. Also, I prefer the TOM bridge to the PRS one.

Scott, have you posted pics of Miss Korrie?

Dang ol' dang! She's a beaut .

Hehe, the Hamer head managed to jump out of the frame… The best part is that I probably paid about the same for it as you are looking to pay for that Les Paul Gem. It was $725 shipped, then I paid him an extra 40 for the Tonepros. My check never got there, so I had to put a stop payment on it (22 bucks) and picked up the paypal fees (25 or so).

So, total investment is a bit over 800. I learned a valuable lesson about those automated postage computers at the USPS. I thought I automatically got a tracking number and it was a 40 cent option I forgot to include. That cost me 22 bucks to stop payment. The dude still hasn't gotten it and it was in one of those big 2-3 day Priority Envelopes.

I've heard that those guitars cause warts or herpes or something. You'd best send it to me so you don't get infected. Sorry, Scott, but it's for the best. It's a beautiful guitar. Congratulations.

OH YEAH!!! that's still a major score!!!

Scott,

That's a beauty. Enjoy it in good health!
