Distortion set amp; EMG SPC control... all I gotta say
oh the strat presence control hmmmmmm
i read the info about it on emg website, sounds pretty cool.....
think it works with SD livewire active pups?
i wonder if i could replace my tone control with this thing, i never use my tone knob ;p
WOW sounds like a combo.....I was thinking afterburner! Did you install that? Let me know....
I traded Dave (theodie) for an Epiphone Goth V. He sent it to me set up with the Distortion set amp; the SPC. Using the Modern Hi-Gain (Soldano) setting on my V-Amp2, and setting the SPC on 10 gives a Killswitch Engage End of Heartache tone.
I only tried the Afterburner briefly, but the Jackson I used sounded noisey as hell with it on. It had EMG HZs. I like the SPC better, as it heats up the pickup with no additional noise
Also, you can use the SPC with any pickups.
yea i was just reading the data sheet for it, i also read about the RPC, they sound interesting.. i cant find the SPC on any music sites to buy tho... you know how much it cost by any chance?

Offhand how much of a boost is it?
I'll have to look but the new Kerry king set includes the spc along with the 81/85. Of Course you know this.
BTW. I switched my pups around last saturday.....so far I like the 85 in the bridge far better.
Then it got me remembering. Pinch harmonics were screaming off my 498T Im wondering now if I wired it bad. I mean I can still pinch em good just not as easily. Hell I can do pinch harmonics on a less output pickup.
Im kind of Leary on drilling a hole in my Les Paul.

JB i already RIP OFF HEADS WITH THE EMG STUFF and THE JB
kerry kings set comes with the PA-2 which is almost the same as the after burner, doesnt come with the SPC... if im not mistaken
I think those afterburners are pretty awesome. I played an ESP through a Marshall DSL combo and when i hit the afterburner it really added alot of gain. ALOT of gain. Can you use those with any pickup?
Yeah, all the EMG boost controls work with anything.
Harrison, just replace one of the tone knobs with it.
Oh ya, forgot to ask. You could wire a switch in series with the afterburner so you dont have to use the push/pull right? Ya i guess it would work wouldnt it. Just turn the burner all the way up and put it into the control cav. I dont like having to use the push/pull tho turn it on and off.
You should get the PA-2. Same thing as the afterburner, but it's an on/off switch rather than a pot.
is the PA-2 an EMG product?
i see it nvm

I have them dimed anyway. Cool.
Thats awesome, because if i sell my Dean i'm gonna get a tube amp
(And i'll need a boost)

Have you cranked the living piss out of it yet?
Before I sent it to you I played it with that setup, it sounded like it would make alot of women and children run the other direction!!!!!
It was just down right focking mean sounding!!!!!
harrisondavid, I know what you mean about the EMG's and lack of harmonics, I had an 85 and an 81 in the bridge slot of one of my guitars previously and I just couldn't hit the pinch harmonics on it like I could on my guitars with passives. I'm not an active fan to begin with and that gave me one more reason to switch back to some seymours.

Don't get me wrong I can get great harmonics from the 85 also have both pups set close the the strings as well.
Maybe im just noticing how underated the gibson pups are. I still haven't tried any seymours yet
Wish I had a scenario for a trade......it's gonna have to be a really good one. I am not unhappy with my EMGs.
If I do go passive. I would entertain a Custom Custom bridge(Zebra) and A2P or PG Neck(zebra)
