Allright, I'm gearin up here to sell about three guitars, and I'm gonna use the money from that to buy a better guitar to replace my ibanez AX for open C tuning.

now, on to the prerequisites.

Gotta have these features:
Hardtail
Quality hardware
Duncan/Dimarzio/EMG pups stock (not entirely nessicary, but would be REALLY nice), 2 Humbuckers
25.5quot; scale AT LEAST. No more than 27quot;. So this includes extended scale quot;baritonequot; guitars as well.
between 350 and 600 dollars NEW or used, in like new condition.
Neck can't be ultra-thin, and the fretwire cant be too small (like the MIM fender necks, ungh.)I've looked at the schecter blackjacks and the artist series, though I'd hate to get one new, as they dont seem retain their value much, if at all. Gettin one used on ebay is sortof a crapshoot anyways.

I've also looked at ESP's, Vipers and Eclipses, but I'm still a little unsure as to how I feel bout LTD's though. I've played some great ones, but also a few where there were major QC issues.

I've also looked at some of the korean-made fenders that have come out recently, and while those look a little appealing, I'd have to scour the used market around here cause they've discontinued most of the ones that I'd be interested in.

Anything I'm missing?

Hmm, I'm a big fan of Schecter so I'd be looking for one of those.

Fender is still making the HH Tele with a set neck and Duncans (I beleive they're a 59/JB combo).

aah, i see that one. Looks like a pearly gates plus and a RP '59. Bout $630 new or so...That's probably one that I'd have to look for used.

Though their bridges and tuners don't look quite as appealing as the schecters. Would be kind of nice to have a guitar for once that I wouldnt have to immediately gut .

I've seen the blackjacks and artists go REALLY cheap on ebay...though I won't bid on a guitar on ebay unless the seller has tons of good feedback, lots of selling experience, and good, detailed pictures. Those are probably at the top of my list right now.

I saw one with an orange flame top at the local Brook Mays go for $500. The bridge and tuners aren't bad actually. Only the nut looks dubious.

Buy this and put a Warmoth neck on it. Same thing, but better lighting and full assembled.

I would get a Burny, Tokai, Edwards, Agile, or ESP. For ESP just make sure you play before you buy. The 300-600 price range in these brands are pretty good though.

You've got enough midline guitars. Sell about 3 or 4 guitars and get one badass mofo!

Or collect some insurance money, add it the sale of your guitar, and buy a killer mustang body kit, and turn your car into one you'd see on the cover of a magazine!!!

Already sellin about 3, My ibanez AX (low-level guitar really, cant sell it for too much), my LTD 7 string, and a jackson that i just picked up so I could make a few bucks off of it. How much I get for each is gonna determine what axe I get next. Cleanin house of all my cheapo axes, cept for the MIM fender that I learned on, and my dearmond hollowbody, which I can't bear to part with .

This is just gonna be a guitar for open C tuning...I cant really justify spending a hell of a lot on a guitar for that...But I'm tired of having to use my crappy AX all the time .

Plus...I already got it planned out so that the mustang's gonna look cool anyways, don't need to sell guitars for that .

That agile looks pretty cool, cept for the maple body paired with an ebony board. That thing's gotta be bright! Only problem I have with the other agile models is the 24.75quot; scale. Had string tension problems on the AX, cause it uses the shorter gibson scale, I'm needin somthin a bit longer to help me out in that department.

Brian Moore i8 can defintely be had in that price range used...

Yamaha makes a Drop 6 AES model. It comes with Dimarzios, but Yamaha has killer quality control.

I'd go for schecter, and in open c, EMG's would be sweet, so the c-1 hellraiser could be my pick.

Well, I decided to check out ebay, and found one beauty just begging to be picked up for 350 dollars:
I figure even if I don't like it, I could just sell it for what i paid for it. I'm liking the flamed top on there with the yellow finish a bit more than the pics of the newer ones i've seen with the quilt tops... She's loaded up with an invader and a 59 bridge in the neck right now.

But...well, hopefully this thing'll work out!! Thanks for the help peeps
