This is from my previous post, thinking of throwing in QUARTER POUNDERS in the NECK amp; BRIDGE spot of the 70s Fender Strat (Rosewood neck/Ash body) Im picking up and leaving the middle pickup stock for now.
Still undecided, any other thoughts on these pickups?likes?dislikes?other suggestions,etc...
Looking for that in your face full sound(Ritchie Blackmore/Trower)bitey,mettalic sound. Not heavy metal but to cover Classic Rock/Blues,etc.
Has to cleanup really good.
Thanx everyone for all the help.
Amp wise Im playing through a Mesa Boogie Head/2/12 Marshall cab!
I think you would really like the combination, vintage neck, QP bridge. I wouldn't call the QP metallic, but it definitely slaps you in the face.

If your looking for the QP's tone in a humbucker try the Bigmouth from GFS pickups.

I think a Quarter Pounder with cheese is an outstanding combo.
Sorry, couldn't help it. I think the Custom staggered might have a bit more bite though.

LukeYou have these pickups? Do you know if they come in sets and whats better the staggered or Flat ones? Or doesnt it matter.
Thanx

All I've ever dealt with is the flats. But I prefer flats in the bridge honestly. That way I can get the pup closest to the strings. Some say the staggered are more bubbly sounding, or lively.

Heh . . . I was just about to say, a Quarter Pounder is a hamburger, a Quarter Pound is a pickup.
I love my neck and middle QP's in my Genny. I love them even more, tapped.
If you haven't bought them yet, quot;tappedquot; is the way to go.
Are yours the tapped staggered or flats?
Do the QPers come in neck and middle pickup positions or are they all the same?
Also, anyone know what would be a good match for middle spot with a QPer in the neck and Bridge? With a good output match.
Thanx
I have flats, and they're a set. That is, the middle is RW/RP. I'm using mine neck and middle, so I'm not sure what would go good between them. Perhaps a tapped SSL-6.
Or, if you want to be real adventurous, be the first to do an SHS configuration. That might be interesting.
