Deep but crisp cleans
Lush transparent reverb
Smooth overdrive
Tight amp; Chunky (for rhythm)
Kinda old school meets new school...?
in either a 1x12 or 50 watt (max) head
priced no more than say $1200 bucks but less would be cool obviously...lol!
any suggestions?!
thanks in advance,
mike
Zinky Blue Velvet. 25 watt all tube 1x12 combo that will make you drool. I think the street price is somewhere around $1000.
Well, my Mesa Mark IV can do dem things all pretty well in my opinion. I own the combo while rated at 85 watts, it has a quot;Tweedquot; mode that lowers the output to around 55 watts or so.
I was able to score mine on Fleabay for around $1000
Good luck,
Loudriver

Play a Zinky Blue Velvet. There is such a thing. Trust me.
Franklin 15 Reverb (when it's ready)
shameless plug!
Rivera?
Yeah Mike, I was gonna suggest you getting with Scott. I bet ya' he could hook ya' up with a KILLER!!!!
i'll check out the Blue Velvet for sure...i actually saw one looking around online at amps the other day and it intrigued me for sure...
a Franklin 15 with verb would be divine for sure, no doubt...
80 watts and even down to 55 is overkill for me...50 down to 25 watts would be ok...i'd prefer something around 30...i want to be able to push those tubes but i don't want the neighborhood to hear my butcherjobs...lol! i'll be getting one in no less than 2 months! (tax returns), but maybe before then?!
any other suggestions?!

The only amp I can think of that nails your description Mike is a Custom Audio Electronics OD-100/50 (it's the 50w version of the OD-100). Blackface Fender cleans, a singing lead channel and a chunky and tight classic sound (unless you get into the SE mod, which gives it more gain). Unfortunately, it's nowhere near your price range

from the clips and all that certainly sounds like a good idea there hoss...or the edna....

Soundwise, your description like a Bogner Shiva to me. Not sure if it's more expensive than that, though.
i don't think Bogner is feasible for me price wise at all...i'm sure it would sound great though?!
anyone have any thoughts on Mesa F series?!
How about a Crate Palomino V32 amp; a Carl Martin Plexitone....????
Or that blue 50 watter from Traynor.
It sounds great, a slightly darker plexi sound.
Very nice amp.

This is what I was gonna suggest..Clean channel on the F50 will do everything BUT the lush reverb....it's not a BAD reverb...but it's not the best.
Otherwise..channel one will go from tweed to near plexi-ish. It's still my fave clean channel EVAR.
F-30 I don't like nearly as much..at least in the combo version...and I just dont care much for 84s...
It's also a LOUD friggin amp (30 or 50!)

But the cost might be an issue....
You don't see a lot of Matamps around here....basically Marshall meets Hiwatt, yeah???

It is. 1224 is cool.

It will be. The head alone is about $2k USD.

There's a new American dealer/distributor or Matamp in CT, Juniors. My brief experience dealing with them is basically what ruined my chances of trying out a 1224.
