how is this as a guitar. i have been looking for a floyd equipted guitar with some shape to it, and this looked cool. can anyone tell me how they are? the usa ones and the non usa ones please....
I played a kelly a while ago and I'm not a fan of shaped guitars so I didn't like it but its a jackson and jacksons can't be beat. USA jacksons are better quality just like a fender is better quality than a squier(thats kinda pushing it though cause squiers are horrible and non us jacksons are quite decent).
Not pushing it too far, because US Jacksons make the Fender look like a Squier
I haven´t played many Kellys, but I´m a but short on time, I´ll post more later
Jackson's are excellent. I absolutly love my USA soloist, IMO the necks just can't be beat as far as playability and comfort...if you can swing it go for the USA models. You wont look back.

Bear in mind that American Strats can be had for $800 (or $600 for the Highway 1) and an American Jackson is closer to $1800
Be careful with import Jacksons. Some are good, many are garbage. The US stuff kicks, but I'd go with another brand for the quot;affordablequot; models.
I am sure the USA and Japnese Jackson Kelly's are outstanding. Of course, the USA's are a bit better but, The Japs will still be better than most guitars on the market in terms of quality.
I played a KE-3 kelly that my friend owns. He played it at a gig and got great tone. When I played it, the action was amazing and it had a very fast and responsive neck. The Duncan designed detonators weren't bad, either.
I happen to love the green KE-2 kelly on Jackson's web site. It's the USA made one...

Here's the KE-3 non-American-made...

The real Floyd is a great improvment. I put one on my Jackson SL-4 and I liked it even more.

from : localhost/God as my witness I'm unable to comprehend why anyone who would want a guitar that's so incredibly metal as that one would want it in any color other than black.

Actually, I got mine for just under $1500, and if you wish to get one used - you can find that some people are very generous (I've seen them go for under a grand). Steer clear from MF for all high grade equipment! Well worth it, no doubt about that.

hey the ke3 is great but if you want it for great soloing forget it the duncan desined detonater cant help you for that except if you gonna change the humbuckers ,the ke2 came with jb /sh2 combimation.and if you want to know other diffrence between ke2 and ke3 the fretboard of ke2 is ebony and the floydrose is original but the ke3 rosewood fingerboard and licencs floyd rose i think this is not a big diffrence but the pickups are.
i got the Kelly 3, not to bad, except a couple things, the pickups are getting changed because my duncan destroyers suck at picking up the high e string, but of course the KE2 already has better pickups. and im getting my floyd rose bridge locked and tightened so i can use more soloing techniques. good guitar though i just gotta get these 2 things done and i'll be even more in love with my guitar, but i just cant wait to get a soloist holy **** that'll be nice
I actually tried both versions yesterday. Check the links for pictures.
from : localhost/first is the US Kelly, and the later is a Kelly KE3.
First, I am no fan of the shape, or Floyd equiped guitars, but both guitars are outstanding. They play very well, and both sounded good. The US Kelly had better finish and sounded a little bit fatter, and has a neck through design, but that is about it. If you can live with the shape both are great choices.
