basically im looking for a high gain metal type pedal. would love for it to be true-bypass, but its not a must if something has great tone. nothing to to expencive please....thanks

I'd recommend a SansAmp GT-2 if you're after the Mesa thing....I can't really help you if you're after the Marshall thing.

Try a Rocktron Rampage, I've been using one for 3 years and have been playing for over 20! It can do both the Mesa and Marshall sound by adjusting the quot;scoopquot; knob and has the most bass and volume of any pedal. They are also very inexpensive!

Depending on how High Gain you want to get, Johns mods a DS-1 to get pretty damn mean...lots of guys describe it as a JCM 800 in a box...

Tonebone Hotbritish is a good choice, but a bit pricey.

I've heard good things about the Rocktron amp; John's mods....

Also hearing GREAT things about the Hermida Mosferatu.....

For versatility, a TECH21 Tri AC might be nice for ya'

And for the record, I haven't tried any....I'm set with my Mesa Boogie Bottle Rocket, but I'm not a high gain guy anyway.

If and when I get a little extra dough, I'm gonna grab a Mosferatu amp; a Zen from Hermida. He's right down the road from me amp; chatting with him on line, he seems likea very cool guy. Said to bring an amp amp; axe on down amp; try them out before buying amp; he give a guarantee that if you don't like it, send it back for a refund (minus shipping!).

I think Fretfire or someone around here is using the Zen amp; Mosferatu......
