i need some help with my project. im gonna buy some parts and make my own custom painted guitar i need some help with how to install a floyd rose, how to wire it[single humbucker] and what kind of paint to use. thanks

As far as painting...

If you don't have a spray gun and compressor, Duplicolor car paints that come in rattle cans are excellent. Spray the color and then clear coat it with either Duplicolor clear lacquer or stewmac nitro lacquer. If you want me to walk you through finishing step by step, let me know. I can also link you to some great websites if you want. As far as wiring, it should be pretty simple - just tell us the type of pickup (Duncan, Dimarzio, Gibson) and control layout.

I just built a guitar and I am in the finishing stages. The floyd rose wasnt overly hard to drill for. Wiring isnt too bad, although I have a friend do most of it. With paint you can go in many directions. An easy way would be to go to reranch.com which has a lot of good info and a great forum. If you know a body shop around you, they might do it too.

is it possibile to put a floy rose into a squier strat without carving a hole to fit, my squier is fitted with a regual strat tremlo. is that possible
