I had a great sounding LP, Nice looking too. It was a Darkburst from 1989. I loved the tone it had, but it was about the most uncomfortable guitar to play. Probably why I picked up my Strat far more.
I have the Strat, a Tele Deluxe (90's style), Washburn HB-35 and a new Rick 360-12 with the quot;Toaster Topquot; vintage pickups. I play anything from the Beatles and Byrds to John Fogerty/CCR to Nirvana and try my hand at Radoihead too. Thinking of an Elitist Casino or another 2 humbucker guitar.
I have played a Hamer Monaco Elite that is like an LP, but comfortable to play. I also like the Guild Bluesbird which has a more vintage sound than the Hamer and it also plays well when seated. I have found a couple of new units that are leftovers and can be bought on the cheap; relatively speaking.
What do you think and what would you do? Thanks for your help.
Sincerely,
gt5litre
How about a Gibson Historic R0 slim necked flame top?
I would suggest a PRS, but it really depend on the budget you got. If you are looking for a sound close to your old LP without the inconvenient of the LP, I'd go for the McCarty... if I was rich...
