I dunno if I am wrong to look at it this way. But in the specifications chart comparing the old and new rails design, it seems as though duckbucker have the lowest output in mV. And in the normal specifications comparing all the pickups, i see that the duckbuckers output is pretty similar to the other rails.
Any advice? my guitar is at a shop being fitted with SSL-3 for the bridge and duckbuckers fer e neck.
welcome to the forum!!
the ducks are low output, so are old strat pups. too much output and you lose the strat tone.
many people do just what you are doing, nice clean low output neck and middle pups with a hotter bridge pup to fatten up the tone from that position and get a better distorted tone
I own a mexican fender strat quot;Jimmy Vaughnquot;. I'm replacing the pickups. A SD hot rail in the bridge. I'm thinking of putting SD duckbuckers in the neck and the middle. In the guitar shop they told me that it is common practice to put a bridge duckbucker in the middle position. Is this indeed the case, or should it really be duckbuckers for the neck and the middle?
