i bought this amp new and really loved its tone although i have had a bunch of problems with it.

the first thing that got fixed from the amp was the output transformer. just a question here, can an output tranny be fixed? or should it be replaced?

well i got it back and it worked......

now about every 10 months or so ( for the past 8 years!) it has the same reccuring problem. ( i get it fixed and it happens again!)
after i turn the amp on and wait a while it starts to have volume drops. until the volume just stays low.
it sounds to me like it gets hot and then has the problem, like a loss connection or something.
i opened it up but couldnt 'see' any bad soldering connections.
i wrote to Marshall and they said they would get back to me.

in the mean time

any thoughts?

I don't know anything about your amp model but , I had a similar problem with a Classic 30. It turned out to be a loose wire/Bad solder in the power amp section.

Anyone?

I agree, most likely a dodgy solder joint, especially as it gets worse as the amp warms up. I would probably replace the output transformer rather than get it repaired. I think that repairing it every so often is false economy.
