What pickups? what do the switches do? Interested in a Epi LP Black Beauty with a JB in it?

That is EXACTLY like my old model 6, It was, and still is, the most versatile guitar I have owned.

Electronics are all stock,it just has the pick up cover taken off of the humbucker,although I still have it.The electronics are the Jackson JE-1000 active mid-boost system which boosts the mids and is controlled by the third knob.The pick ups are actually passive with the mid boost using a 9volt battery to power it,you can use any pickups(s.d.) with the system.

That would make the Pickups J-200 Stacked Single caoils and either a J-80 or J-50BC humbucker (J-80 most likely)

BTW: The electronics are the JE-1200 mid boost.... the JE-1000 and JE-1500 sets have a maximum of 2 pots and one switch, the 1500 being the one with a similar effect because of the peak shift switch. The JE -1000 on the other hand is a pure gain boost with a 3-band dip-switch EQ on the board

Yeah ,I always get the Je-1000 and Je-1200 confused thanks for the heads up zerberus.

With the midboost it was the J50BC. Model 5s and 3 dual humer had the 80. The single humers had the 90. I'm not too sure about the model 3 HSS.
Maybe some model 6s had the J80 but I never heard of any. But again it's not like I heard of many anyway!

Mine has the J50BC.

What woods is it made of, etc?

I think its made of alder or poplar.They had a discussion on the JCF and some thought they were made of one of the 2.I'm looking for a string through guitar on a trade ,I'm growing tired of floyded guitars.

Maple neck through and poplar wings for neck through model series. Rosewood fingerboard.
