Thanks to a seemingly innocent guitar trade (my Ibanez 7 string for a decked out Strat), I feel myself becoming a quot;Fender guy.quot; I've never really thought much of them (the company as a whole), but a MIM standard body, midnight wine finish, with a Deluxe neck, big 70's headstock, rosewood board, and 3 killer pickups (blue amp; silver Lace sensors, Duncan Livewire Hot) in a tortoise shell pickguard have made me start singing a different tune.

I'm now considering ditching some other stuff to build another Strat...

It's funny how one's taste changes over time. I'm glad you happy with what you got.

Well it's like.......you can't really improve perfection....and the Telecaster was perfect so of course Strats rock...

Glad to see you're crossing over

exactly the same thing that happened to me. Was a metal freak with a hot rodded gax70 ibanez, now im a blues/jazz/classic rock player w/ a SSS surfer strat. Just has so much more soul than other guitars in my opinion.

Play that strat hard! -dan

Haha strange dude, right now I'm gassing for a Floyd-loaded strat...maybe it's the load of Maiden I've been listening to lately.

I have always loved Strats and the Teles! One of these days I'll get one just lack of funds right now. I'll still drool at the Musicians freind catalog. I can't confirm this but Im pretty sure that Adam D played a strat recording Alive and just breathing!

I crave different guitars like different music for sure.

Fender Feaver hits hard and very fast!

This Strat is starting to strike me as the perfect tool for every job. My style amp; tastes (in the music I play) haven't changed at all, so it seems pretty crazy for a Strat to be kicking over Ibanez and ESP.

I'm still skeptical, as I am of any quot;all-in-onequot; device (be it stereo, tv/vcr, etc...) but I think the skepticism will wear off pretty quickly

I think this guitar needs a Tele to keep him company. I'm thinking midnight wine, maple board, Hotrails bridge...

He played one with a single sized humbucker in the bridge when I saw them live

I wonder if that will happen to me also when my guitar gets finished?

If it does, just realize you're not the only one, and in good company. Who are we to argue with Beck, Clapton, SRV, Pete T, Jimi, Knopfler, etc...

I'm died in the wool Gibson, but even I have to admit a certain amount of Fender affinity. They're annoyingly addictive to play and they're just so damn easy. The tone is there. Period. Enjoy that Strat.

I played pretty much all Fenders up until about three months ago. I turned around and I've got three Gibbys now! Rock on.

AHAHAHAHAH WELCOME TO FENDER STRAT CLUB
I love those guitars
but i want a recomendation for a strat that could HANDLES my downtuned tunes and heavy strings

I bet you could tune it down. I've honestly not yet came across any instrument that I couldn't drop as low as I wanted. You just have to make sure to set it up (string height, intonation, truss rod) for the strings/tuning.

I had the strat that I currently own set up and tuned down to Drop B, it worked perfectly fine. Jim Root of Slipknot (my display pic) plays a Fender Flathead Telecaster with stock EMG's, he has one in Drop B and one in Drop A. Fender also makes the Jaguar Baritone Custom. So I think it's easy to get a Fender tuned down and with heavy strings...

JB - I'm glad you're enjoying the strat. Strat's rock!
Rock on
