I've got a Seth Lover in the bridge position of a 1977 Gibson doubleneck (six side) and to me, it's just THE tone. However, I'd like to put one in the bridge position of a 72 LP deluxe (it's already routed and I didn't do it) but I'm afraid it will not sound the same. I'd swap the pickups to test it but the doubleneck's wiring is a rats nest and I don't want to go through that again! You could see how the quot;just use the doubleneckquot; theory will not work as that guitar is too heavy to use for hours on end. I'm big enough where the LP can hang all night and it won't bother me, but the DN is just too much.

Does anyone have a Seth in a Les Paul and how does it differ from the Antiquity in a LP. I have a JB in the bridge now but it just seems to be missing something. Too thin maybe? I can't put my finger on it but it seems to be as hot as I like it, but not as full. I have a JB in a 68 Epiphone Casino and it sounds just great. Anyways, a few opinions would be really great as I don't want to blow a bill on the Seth or spend a lot of time swapping it out just to find out it will sound WAY different than it does in the doubleneck.

I have a SLB in my Tabacco 78LPS. Sounds great through my MM212HD. It plays cleans and even distortion well. Early ZZ TOP tone for days, at least to my ears.

Knowing where the Seth came from (design wise), it'll sound fine.....no, better than fine, it'll sound great. The JB in a LP just doesn't sound right. The JB seems more suited for superstrats and hollowbodies. Don't know what it is but in an LP it just doesn't ring right. The Seth or 59 in a LP bridge slot = righteous tone.

Granted, it won't sound exactly like the DN because, well, it's got half the wood pretty much, but it'll still sound great.

That sounds good. I play anything from blues amp; rock like Led Zeppelin to metal. The Seth in my DN and the Ant in my other LP even do the metal thing really well with my Vox and Line 6 modeling amps. With my tube amps they are just killer for that vintage, classic crunch and drive. The Seth seems a little hotter than the Ant, but that could just be my ears.

I've come to the conclusion that you can do anything with anything. Gimme a Tele through my Marshall and I'll still be able to play Judas Priest and Van Halen and whatever else. Gimme a Les Paul through a Bassman or Deluxe Reverb and I'll play some blues. Through a good dirtbox out front (PlexiTone plug ) and there's your hard rock and metal. It's not just the tone, but also how you use the tools to get it.

Yeah, I think I like the Seth B in a LP even more than the Seth N, which sounds a tad dark to my ears.
