What, if any, was the relationship between Music Man amp; Fender?

I was reading up on Johnny Winter's gear amp; saw that he plays/played thru Music Man HD-130s. In looking up those amp; other Music Man Amps, they look just like Fenders.

Anyone???

Leo started MM after he left Fender...the MM amps are half SS and half tube, I happen to like them and am on the lookout for a specific model...some guys do not like them because they are half SS. Jonny Winter has been using RD 65 1x12 combos for years as well as a 130HD 2x12 and a 130HD 4x10. Eric Clapton used them for a while. Both Joe and Brad from Aerosmith used them in the 70's and 80's, Kim and Chris from Soundgarden used the alot in the early days...Some of the earlier models have a single 12AX7, and some people say that those sound better (Jonny is one of those people)...

TGWIF...there's a 130HD 2x12 for sale on HC, if that's the one you're looking for. Pics look like a good amp all around for the money.

The HD130 2x12's are cool as hell...not to mention loud! But im on the look out for something smaller that my Twin!

I was just perusing the HC Classifieds, saw one for sale amp; it jarred my memory to come over here amp; ask about them because you really don't hear a lot about them.

I am also still fighting Bird GAS...it's comming down to a good LP, a 335, or a Bird, and I have to admit...Im stuck...I might not even both with either of the 3!

my avatar is a Gibson RD...oddball 70's Gibson, maple body and neck, some of them even had maple fingerboards. There was an RD, and RD Custom, and an RD artist..the artist had active Electronice disigned by Robert Moog...they look kinda like a Bird, but they have a LP headstock...Im also thinking about getting one of those too!

You sure it wasn't Carvin making them???? looks is ther only thing an RD has in common with a real bird...most people can't stand them (they are all Norlin era guitars) but I happen to dig them...I used to have one and still wish Id never sold it!

All I know about Music Man amps is I see them all the time for surprisingly low cash and that the band Vaz gets a really cool tone with them and Teles with humbuckers.

The Power amp is tube, but the preamp is solid state right? I know a lot of them had a built in analog phaser effect. Originally they were used in a lot of cheesy 70's country, but I kinda like the sound now.

I have an 112RD-100-EVM that I use from time to time. LOUD and clean, and not as sterile as a pure SS amp.
