I have several grouding questions. FIrst, I am using a JB, a Jazz and a Phat Cat. All with metal covers. Do I need to ground the pickup chassis or do the ground wires from the pickups do that?
Also, I used copper foil to line the electronics cavity. I was planning on making a brass sheet fixture to screw and solder to the bottom of the cavity and then run ground wires from each of the componenets to it (and one to the bridge post). Is that better, worse or the same as running a ground wire from component to component and then to ground?
Also, should the components and the shielding have two separate ground paths or can they share the ground?
I hope this isn't too confusing!
thanks,
Jeff
Go to from : localhost/and look at the quot;Quieting the Beastquot; mod. That's how you want to do it to avoid any and all ground loops. Don't worry about the capacitor if you don't have it or can't get it, just put a wire in it's place until you can get one.
No, you don't have to ground the covers. The pickup ground will take care of that.
