so let's hear it...i'm sure some of you have it down...some of you have already built it, plan on building it or what have ya...but let's see it...what's the specs on your dream guitar...every detail you can come up with?! if price weren't an option...sky's the limit.

i'll post mine later...i'm interested to see how we all differ on this and how much is also the same!?

To me the #8220;dream#8221; guitar is one that replaces all others. I#8217;m not sure that I#8217;ll ever own an axe that is so great that I#8217;ll never have the need to play another (I#8217;m saying that no such guitar exists). But, I do have a general idea of some of the things such a guitar might possess. My Mockingbird comes closest to the description I#8217;m about to give, but will never quite become my #8220;dream#8221; guitar#8230;

Maple neck through design with Mahogany wings and rosewood fretboard. It would also have a highly figured quilted maple top with pearloid binding. The finish would be heritage cherry with a trans amber top.
24 6105 frets
3 3 tuning keys layout w/ locking tuners
Tune-o-matic bridge
H-S-H pickup configuration.
Push/pull pots for coil spitting of each humbucker.
Superswitch to allow for various combinations of pickups, such as the ability to get strat-like notch positions.

Not too descriptive, I know, but because I still don#8217;t think that guitar would be the last and only guitar I#8217;d ever own I#8217;ve never put a lot of thought into it.

Funny thing is, I have no idea what body shape that guitar would be.

search the forum LOL

My dream guitar...hmm...

A strat body, either alder, ash, or mahogany, not sure yet.

A maple neck with maple fretboard, 24 stainless steel frets, and locking 6 in-line tuners with a V-shaped neck.

H/S/H Pickup combination - two Custom Shop pickups(detailed below at the *) and an Antiquity Surfer or other vintage sounding single coil.

Push/Pull coil splitting for both humbuckers on the Volume knob.

Push/Pull on the Tone knob to add the bridge humbucker into any position.

Basic 5-way switch.

Master Volume, Tone for the Neck Pickup and Tone for the Middle and the Bridge.

Either a Vintage Tremolo (Fender '62 Reissue Tremolo) or Floyd Rose Original Tremolo bridge with a brass saddle on the high E-string.

Green burst flamed maple top with a pickguard and custom fret inlays.

* Custom Humbucker Pickups - Much like the Stag-Mag in that they split to sound like a vintage single coil but when not split will sound like a regular PAF pickup (if Stag-Mags already sound like this please somebody tell me lol)

Yep...I think thats it.

It'd be a 7 string made by a custom luthier. Arch top mahogany body with quilt maple top, finished in emerald green with natural binding. Body shape would be a mix between PRS and Schecter C series. Bolt on with AANJ rosewood neck/fretboard. 24 6100 frets, my Schecters neck carve and radius (14 I think). It'd be HH with either an Air Norton/Evolution set or an Air Norton/707. One volume, one 3-way switch with the middle position set to be the coils of the humbuckers facing eachother. Jack like on an Ibanez JEM. Hardtail; TOM with string thru, gold hardware. Inlays would be mother of pearl PRS style birds with a few changes.

I think that's everything...

It'd look kinda like this but different:Good basswood body (my model 4 is made of Basswood which is surprisingly warm)
Humbucker/single/single
bolt on neck, 24 medium jumbo frets
Maple neck with a walnut stripe (purely for cosmetics)
Binding on neck and headstock, Jackson headstock.
Basically a DK2 haha... In transparent black... oh god... With a FullShred in the bridge, a hotrails in the middle position and a coolrails in the neck position.
Volume bridge/volume neck and middle/tone/switch for splitting neck pickup/switch for splitting middle pickup/tone control pulls to split bridge pickup/5 way switch in standard.
Original Floyd pro with a tremol-no. Mini sharkfins inlay (as on the DKMG)

I think that's it...

with a custom- 8 bridge w/EMG afterburner and a EMG 81 neck

distortion or dimbucker/ new Duncan stack/ hotrails

I'll keep it simple. An old 58 or 59 les paul or maybe a 54.
like this:
59

54 If I have to 'custom' make on it would be either a hamer or gibson les paul junior (prob gibson) with a single cut body shape, 1 piece limba, 1 bridge p90, wrap around tailpiece, and a beautiful TV white(not yellow) finish. like this:

and this pic shows the color better

and If I made another custom guitar(assuming I get to keep my 57 ri LP I have and the fantasy gibby junior) It would be just like this hamer:

but probbaly with p90s, and possibly in a cherry finish like thisI know you guys like pics so I used them liberally!

Body:

korina wood, telecaster body style, wraparound bridge w/ tonepros locking studs, tele electronics (1 volume, 1 tone, 3-way), finished two ways (natural w/ tortoise pickguard or orange dyed w/ cream pickguard), DeArmond 2k pickups

Neck:

birdseye maple w/ brazilian rosewood, cream dot inlays, cream neck binding, gibson scale length, warmoth boatneck shape, bone nut

Headstock:

Planet Waves locking/cutting tuners, two finishes : natural korina and orange dyed

I'd want extra options on the guitar like a Buzz Feiten tuning system to ensure it would get virtually perfectly in tune all over the fretboard.

I've come to the conclusion that the Tele-Sonic has exactly the tone I love, so I'd love a more boutique version of that with a few of my own little touches

7 string les paul with a P90 bridge and a seth lover neck. I could go into more detail on the neck specs and aesthetics, but those are the main points.

Well after the recent work I had done to my HM strat I don't think it could really get much better... but If I could have 1 guitar it would be:

Black Fender Strat
Vintage Fender 6-screw tremelo
Alder Body
a neck like my Hm strat...
maple neck/maple fretboard (black dot inlays)
22 Jumbo Frets
black/white/black pickguard
2 humbuckers
Invader Bridge / Jazz Neck
Single volume knob
2-way mini toggle switch for pickup selection
LSR Roller Nut
Sperzel Locking Tuners

Rock On

We'll try something like this....

How about a Les Paul with P100's (the ultimate middle ground between humbuckers and single coils).... that's basically it...in honeyburst!
The truth is, I've wandered towards a lot of different guitars, and I keep coming back to 3 guitars that I consider total perfection, the alder Fender strat, Gibson Les Paul Std, and PRS McCarty. I've given up on trying to out-do those 3.
Leo, Les, and Paul/Ted got it right.

J/k
