I know too use the neck pup and rolled of tone control but how about the amp? I just have a little Vox Pathfinder 15R so no tube and 12quot; speaker(s), how should i fiddle my knobs which are Gain, Volume, Treble, Bass, and Reverb?

Instead of making another thread, can you recomend a good neck humbucker pup also? I had a SD jazz few years ago but don't remmeber much of it soundwise.

jazz tone is as subjective as rock tone. Pretty much whatever sounds good to you. For stuff like that I like using seths, '59, a2p, or jazz in the neck or something similar

I've been asked not to give instruction on the SD Forum....please refer any questions to PUCKBOY'S CORNER amp; quit badgering me D@MMIT!!!
Sorry Evan.........I couldn't resist!

Just a nice warm clean sound. Usually a clean sound with one or two 12quot; speakers of some sort of quality can get a good clean sound, and then its all in the fingers and the chords you play. You can jazz it up on a strat just as much as on a big fat jazz guitar...just different tones I love my neck strat pickup for some jazzy clean stuff, its just such a good clean sound. But any clear clean humbucker like one of the lower output duncans like a seth or a2pro would give great jazz tones if you want a duncan. Once again though, you can get good jazz tone out of lots of things. eg. my les paul with burst bucker pros (neck for jazz) sounds great for jazz through my single 12quot; mesa combo. But just a nice warm clean sound from an amp with a nice warm sounding guitar should get you great jazz tone...forget the tone knobs

the Jazz pickup is really terrible for jazz- it is way too bright..try an APH2 instead. I have always thought the 'Jazz' name is very misleading.
