Hi guys!

I'm considering to buy the Vox Tonelab SE, since i need a good preamp for recording directly to PC, and a preamp with expression pedals for stage use, with my clean Peavey Centurions amp and cab.

The important things for me, is good quality, and tones that sound quot;amp-likequot;, dynamic, transparent tones. Not like the POD's, which makes every guitar, playing nuance, and volume pot setting sound similar.

So, do anyone have experience with this stageboard, feel free to give me some advice and opinions on it!

Well, my friend from the north, first off the Vox gear is awsome. Everything from good tone to ease of dialing in something new. One thing to think about would be an Valvetronics AD60 head. They cost about as much used as a new Tonelab pedal and it's the same preamp. And you can still do the direct recording with the head.

Well, i already have a good quality, powerful amp, and i just need the floorboard, with it's expression pedals.

If you don't mind, could you give me a more detalied review, and maybe a soundclip, of what your amp sounds like?

I wish that I could give samples, take a listen to the samples on the vox site. They give a good overview, though not complete. Here are the amps modeled:

It has the more common FX pedals, modulation, delay and reverb. Even a good noise gate. The coolest feature is the tuner, it WILL spoil you. I can't give any input on the expression pedal as I don't have the foot switch for my AD60 head. But I can imagine that the quality would be very good. As far as tones, GREAT is the first and only word. How accurate they are to the original is subjective, but they are all useable but one for me. I can't seem to find any use in the tones I get out of the JCM 900. Everything else is top notch. Are there any specific area's that you would like me to comment on?
