I've picked up a used '59 pickup that someone has enlarged the screw holes and made it none too useful. I need another vintage style humbucker base plate from SD (1 15/16quot; pole space) that I can use to place rebuild the pickup onto from this damage one I've got now.
So if you've got a dead vintage pickup ('59, Pro II, PG or Seth Lover) that you might be throwing out....don't. I'll pay the shipping through USPS to get it and try this little project.
Thanks,
matt

Just buy a box of #3-48 brass nuts from mcmaster.com. It's only a few bucks and you get 100 of them.

Solder them to the tabs, and you're back in business.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try. Hopefully Home Depot might have the nuts and screws in #3-48 size.

I sincerely doubt they will. The odd sizes are just that, odd. For some reason guitars made big use of them, humbucker height screws are #3-48 and pole screws are #5-40.

You pretty much have to buy bulk from a supply house, but they're not expensive, even in 100s.
