Results...pretty damn good.
I asked to make an overwound APH(b) on antiquity baseplate, all antiquity hardware wound to about 9.5K, with a dun aged A2 magnet. When we got it all assembled in the Custom Shop, the reading was only 8.43. I think they had so many things to keep track of that some things got confused (I'm not complaining at all mind you). So the gentlemen that was helping me went to ask MJ what to do. She pointed to some boxes above the workbench labled EVH. He grabbed a couple of coils, measured them, and we started over. Got it all together and it reads 9.2....that's close enough for me.
I installed it in the bridge of my 03' Standard, and it sounds good as far as I can tell. My Marshall is in the shop, so I only have my blues Jr and my Boss GT-6 to run it through for the next week or so. But I have to say it has a lot more bite, expecially on the top end than I was expecting from a dun aged A2 bucker. This is a good thing. The mids are nice and sweet, and the lows seem slightly tighter than my other A2 bridge. The output is right where I want it. I'll be able to tell more, and dial it in when I get my amp back, but right now I'm very happy with it.
I think what I really ended up with is an EVH on antiquity hardware with a dun aged A2. Worse things have happened to a guy before, that's for sure!
sounds great!
I got to try Stevo's LP thru his Marshall, and I liked that APH bridge, which should be kinda similar to yours
I told you it'd sound good.
sounds like a killer pup to me
That's great! Glad it turned out like you wanted it.
