So I am either going to buy a Banzai Fireball today (about $200) or I was thinking about a Peterson Strobe Stomp Tuner (also about $200). Or I could buy the Boss TU-2 with the daisy chain power supply to power all of my other pedals (including the new Fireball).
Right now I use my Boss GT-6 as my tuner and volume pedal. Is the TU-2 going to be that much more accurate? I know the Peterson will be.
I probably won't pull the trigger on both the Fireball AND the Peterson in the same month....I really don't NEED both of them.
Thoughts, suggestions.
you've got a JEFF SEAL modded JCM 800... do you really need any new pedals? A tuner pedal is nice... but if you want noise reduction and a daisy chain power supply you could get the Boss NS-2 instead of the TU-2... You have the Boss GT-6 so I don't think you need any other tuner pedals or distortion after that and your amp...
Peterson strobostomp all the way. Best tuner around, you won't believe how much better it is than the TU-2 until you try it.

I really do. The amp has some noise when I turn it up all the way, so I was wanting to set it on moderate crunch, then have something to take me into modern high gain, and then a solo boost. I don't need tons of distortion, just a little extra quite kick and then a solo function.
I'd go for the TU-2 and the Fireball. The BOSS is as accurate as you'll ever need and then, like you said, you could link up all of your pedals to one power supply, which is very nice.
Menatone Fish Factory!Homebrew Big DFind a white ltd ed. Fulltone FDII (just because they look amp; sound good)Peterson this month and the Fireball next month!!!
solo? how abt ts-9 as a boost?

A tubescreamer isn't really transparent, they have a hump in the mids that alters your tone beyond just adding gain.
I just picked up a Digitech Distortion Factory today. Sounded good in the store, but the real test is here at home. Review coming..............

1. I have a Spina modded SD-1 that I can use for that....but it alters the tone in way that I'm not looking for at this time. I want an OD unit with a transparent boost function. I don't like a huge pedal board, so I'd like to go with as few pedals as possible.
Listen to me:
DON'T get the TU-2. Sure, it works, but the Peterson is just so much better.
If you want ultimate perfection, the Peterson will do it. Don't go for a cheaper solution because you don't want to wait.... In the long run, it's the wrong thing to do.However, I say get the Banzai, and then the Peterson.

This is probably what will happen after thinking about it today. I'll get the Boss Noise Suppressor to daisy chain all of my pedals. The Peterson will be next month. Then my pedal board will consist of:
Peterson Strobe
Spina Modded GE-7
Banzai Fireball
Boss Chorus (old school)
into
Boss GT-6 (for volume pedal mainly, and for times when I want to run a model of an amp thru my Marshall).
Really, too many pedals for me, but a guy has to compromise.
A Z Vex Super Duper may be a worth while addition to your rig.
You can set the 1st channel as a clean boost and set the 2nd channel to overdrive the amps input. That way you have access to both a clean boost and the ability to drive your amp harder too, all in 1 very easy to use pedal
Just an idea.............

I don't think it's an OD Unit, but what about the Pickup Booster? Isn't that supposed to serve this very purpose?
Banzai Fireball!!!
