I bought a Fender American Deluxe V-neck Strat last week, and it has been a real joy to play. I am more of a Tele player, but this Strat is keeping me satisfied with its warm, rich tones. The SCN pickups are shockingly good, and the S1 switch options are very useful. The bridge pickup is among the best I've heard, rivaling the Twangbanger in my California Series Strat.
I am not a big fan of the classic Strat notch positions (2/4), but the series combinations with the S1 switch are more to my liking. So, I was wondering whether it is possible to wire a standard 5-way Strat switch to provide neck middle and middle bridge series combinations in positions 2 and 4 (or is that 4 and 2)? Since I am especially interested in the B M series option, I'd also like to know whether the standard 5-way can accomodate B M series and N M parallel to retain one classic notch tone? A simple wiring diagram would be appreciated if this arrangement is possible. I'd like to try it when I swap pickups in my Texas Special Strat.
Check out the mega strat and budget mega strat wiring at from : localhost/might also be a way to do what you describe with one of the 4P5T switches and a push pull pot.
Thanks, Chill. Any other suggestions or solutions?
