i am going to build a new guitar and put lipstick tubes in it. i was told that ash can be a tad too bright with alnico 5s in it. (i think sls-1's have alnico 6's in them) i was directed to go with alder. im painting it vintage white so its not a matter of looks (wood grain). anyway, i am curious as to what you all think....
thanks

the lipstick tubes is what i was asking about.
if the lipstick tubes are going to be way too bright and icepicky, im not sure what im going to get then..... i did choose the light swamp ash body though, and a maple neck...i cant wait.
