Sorry no pics,(still have some airbrushing to do).
I'm building an SG style for a guy at work, originally it was gonna be flat black to save $$,but I asked and he was cool with me trying an idea:
Fill a spray bottle with a metallic paint,(I'm using a water-bourne acrylic:Createx Auto Air Metallic Black-with a few drops of bonding agent),and thin enough to spray consistently.
Hang the guitar and go to town with the spray bottle.
When it's dry it looks like beaten metal-if you use black it looks like beaten oily metal.
For a softer look,(like aluminum),add some pearl of the same colour.
Then seal and clear.
That sounds very cool man, I demand pics when you finish!
That sounds like an easy paintjob. I'm also looking forward to those pics.
3 on the pics!!!
I saw a neat trick on an auto restoring show: wrap whatever you're painting in cheesecloth, paint it amp; pull off the cloth. Gave it a pretty cool looking texture.
Any pics yet?
No sorry,I'm a zillion years behind on pics.I'm almost done a bunch of pieces so I'll snap off a few then.
Cool
