Just picked this combo up, but havent had a real chance to drive it yet...

Yes, I have the Atomic Reactor 112 and a PodXT, and I love it. Do a search for quot;Atomicquot; and read my thread for more info.

Does it really quot;de-digitizequot; the sound, and make the feel/tone of the modellers better? I would assume the best modeller to use with the Reactor would be the Vox Tonelab just because it's tube driven also. Just my common sense though.

I use 2 of them live and in the studio. I will be getting the 212 version as soon as it comes out. You could say I'm somewhat of an endorsee. I also use my Kasha Rockmod into them with stellar results. It warms up the sound of any modeler. I don't think it matters which device you use, it's only going to be as good as the patches you design to play through it.

If you want to hear some clips of it with the PODxt, listen to the song quot;To Be With Youquot; on my MYSpace page. from : localhost/if you want to hear what the Kasha Rockmod sounds like into the Atomic go to from : localhost/and visit their soundclips page. The first clip there is a rough basic track and IS NOT the Atomic, but all the rest are. Myself and some buddies did some clips, just cuz not too long ago.

Also visit my site listed below for more POD/Atomic info available on the forum section.

Those are some great sounding clips.
I end up usually playing the atomic more than my Boogie F30.

I really like the PodXT/Atomic setup.

Sounds much quot;fullerquot; with some power behind it, certainly better than through headphones. Pretty loud for 18w too.

bummin.....
I bought this with a original POD with a 2.1 chip....went to put my XT in and NO GO...wrong template, so my template is on order at the moment...but Im still digging it with the 2.0.

BTW, if anyone has a ORIGINAL POD chip laying around..please contact me..Id like to revert this thing back....peace

Doc, you mean a version 1.4 chip? Pre 2.xx right? Thanks Presa! The Atomic works well with everything! It's my go to rig these days. 2 in stereo is plenty loud. I never push it past 3-4.

YES! I want a 1.4 chip...please find me one!

Well I have a 1.4, but I was saving it...still not quite sure why though. Thought it would be come useful way way down the line. Maybe not??? I did some killer stuff with it. The Mission Impossible 2 tracks on my Myspace page are all POD 1.4. So nostalgic now (:-lt;

I asked this in the amp forum the other day basically...

I want to run a POD XT Live through one...do I need anything besides the amp itself? would I need the quot;blankquot; template or whatever? I couldn't find an answer on the Atomic FAQ...

Also...is there any quot;upgradequot; that will get rid of the goofy digital overtones? Some models are worse than others for that...

jeff, yes you'd need the blank template, which is what is should come with, or atleast select that one if you order one. As faras those overtones, believe it or not certain amps like the AC30 give off certain ghost tones. Line 6 accurately modelled that. WHat you hear is quite possibly the results of reproducing the original gear.

Heh ..not in my case...I do realize some do that though.

However I've owned 800's, played quite a few plexis, JTM 45s, Bassmans, Soldano's and I've never heard one of them do that. All of these models do. Sounds like theres a harmonizer going on faintly in the background....sigh....

Jeff, Have you tried a reset or used the line 6 monkey to do any updates? I have had a pod go haywire on me and do that....but after updating it went away. But then again I had a bum POD Pro that it wouldnt go away.

I need to fiddle some more and figure out why it's not being recognized (even though I have loaded all the drivers, etc).

I have not tried a re-set. I assume I would lose my self created pre-sets?

That is strange ... I have never heard the effect you speak of on any of those models. Have you experienced this with someone else's XT? I am wondering if yours has a defect.

I've only tried some of their actual amplifiers (Flex, VettaII, SpyderIIs, the original thing they made 10 years ago) otherwise.)

It's quite annoying...seems worst on the Bassman and JTM. I'm gonna try that re-set and see what happens this weekend. Other than that (and the piss poor models of the Plexi amps ), I love the thing.

Damn i miss my XT... i haven't played guitar in 3 months.

Good luck, and let us know what the outcome is.

It's funny: I love the Plexi models, esp. the Variac. I don't really care if they don't sound quot;exactlyquot; like the real thing - I actually think they give a good tone, and that's all that really matters to me.

The bassman model is one of my faves. Don't use the JTM much. Never heard that on the Bassman. If you can email me one of your patches I can check it out and see if there is something in the patch you designed that may be causing it too. I do beta testing for Line 6 as well as have quite a few of my designed patches in the model packs factory defaults. I can usually spot something just from looking at the settings that may be an issue.
