I moved up from Fender Super 250 9's set to Silver Bullet 10's and the G-string is very twangy. The B and E strings are very non-twangy. Why is this?

Before i changed the high E 9 was the twangy string and that was one of the motivations among others to move to 10's. This twangy G is a mystery to me.

Depending on where the twang is coming from, I'd fold a piece of sandpaper and run it through the GBE string slots, just to clean them up a bit. Sometimes, that's the source of pingy sounding strings or muffled strings.

I'll give the sandpaper a try. Thanks GJ.
