Hey folks, trying to decide if the jazz would sound better in series or tapped in position 2 of a 5-way switch on a Hum/single/hum guitar. Anyone tried to spit the Jazz before?
Sounds light with a sparkly chime, a light quot;quackquot; can also be heard in the right combination, but varies enormously from guitar to guitar.
to give you the problem a little more in depth...right now, on hand, I have a jazz and vintage rails for neck and middle, respectively. Didn't think of tapping the Jazz till after I had it! Anyway, I could do a swap for the VR, but I was wondering if the quack from a split jazz and SSL1(or other duncan single) would be anywhere close to a normal strat. If not, I'll just install the jazz and VR to be in normal, series mode at all times. Thanks!
My strat has a Jazz(n), SSL-1(m), JB(b).Both the 2 and 4 positions give me very useable strat sounds. It's obviously not perfect SC sounds, but close enough for me.
If you want quot;versatilequot;, that's THE PU combination, IMHO.
