Hey guys
I was just minutes away from ordering a set of Antiquity P-90's by phone and saw on the spec sheet that the covers are only 0.360quot; high.

On my Les Paul The PUps stick out a long way.

I notice that the Vintage SP90-1 specs say that it has a slighly taller 'vintage correct' height spec of .745quot;

So for some weird reason the Antiquity pickup covers are only half as tall (deep...thick) as standard vintage p-90 covers and my stock pickups are exposed higher from my guitars body than the actual depth of the Antiquity covers?

Why has Seymour made the 'ultimate' vintage P-90... that he says looks and smells and tastes like a 35 year old pickup... but it doesn't fit vintage spec guitars? So If I pay extra money for that vintage sweet aged antiquity sound.... I will have a big 1/4 inch hole where my pickup cover doesn't fit?

Any suggestions?

Anyone struck this problem before?

Can I get the Antiquitys supplied with the SP09-1 covers?

Paspallum

im assuming that if you needed the talled covers, you can probably get them. it will probably be a shop floor custom.

So what do I do?
What is the way around this?

I've decided on the tone... now I find the pickup is going to be a lousy fit on my guitar.

I just phoned Seymour duncan Ltd and the guy there said that he remebers Seymour telling him he had to make the covers short like that...to fit the baseplate or something?

Surely the Antiquity Soapbars would be made with Les Paul Guitar in mind?
I can see how they would fit an SG... becasuse the strings are closer to the (flat) body on an SG...

Hopefully, like Jeremy says they can supply a cover?

im thinking that the stock antiquitys will work fine. i cant imagine that they would make a pup like that not fit in a les paul

Yeah
I measured my pickups and they extrude out of the guitar the same amount of the total height of the Antiquity covers. So the Antiquities would JUST fit... but you would be able to see the baseplate.. and if I wanted to raise the height of the Antiquitys higher than what my current pickups are... well.. the 'insides' would be all hanging out.

I saw this comment on Antiquities P-90's on Harmony.Central
The guy put them in a '54 Goldtop Epiphone LP:Comments: As far as P90s go, these are the most tone-oriented i've found. It's a shame you have to pay for all the rather unnecessary 'aging' just to get a P90 with Alnico IIs. Nevertheless, I'm very satisfied. So until Tom Holmes starts winding soapbars...

plastic covers, not aged at all (plastic usually doesn't age much, anyway), also not very tall (on my bridge pickup some of the baseplate is visible beyond the cover); pole pieces are blackened (very cool look, i dig the contrast); mounting screws are slightly tarnished and rusted (only downfall is that if you're doing heavy screwdriving, they tend to strip easily).

10 for tone, feel, and look. I'm docking a point for the price.
