hi, when i fit my dimebucker into a guitar it was easy becuase i used the mountings that came with it, these fittings looked to use different than normal screw sizes etc.
so i am wondering if i can fit one easily into my ibanez rg 550 because it has pre drilled holes that im thinking the mounting screws might be too big for. i may be way off but i want to make sure before making any purchase. the people in the local shop know nothing, they dont even stock the pickup, just the JB and a few others.
thanks,
Dave.
Are you talking about the ring or the pickup itself? I put a Dimebucker in an RG last year that didn't come with the matching mounting ring and it worked with the Ibanez mounting ring. I do remember having to go to Home Depot and buying some screws but, sorry, I can't remember exactly why.
I think you'll be able to get it to work and if not, you can always exchange it. Maybe someone else will know more.
It should work, for the most part.
If it doesn't work, then just use the normal screws all pickups come with to hold the Dimebucker down, then buy two small nuts that match the regular screws.
