When your picking on a guitar with a middle pickup at it's (according to the duncan instructions anyway)Optimal height at about 3/16quot; from the strings do you pick quot;overquot; the pickup? e.g. does the pick pick the strings directly above where the middle pickup is?
If so did you develop a picking style where the pick doesn't 'dig' deep into the strings or have you just always picked that way?
i ask because ever since I've had the Lil demon/duck/cool rails combo in my strat anytmie I try picking 'over' the middle pickup the pick always hits off it at mabye every 2nd or 3rd stroke, and I also can't help thijnking that if I spent a week or 2 trying to train my hand to pick in a way that doesn't 'dig' as deep that I could pick in a more pelaxed and so more efficient manner..and thoughts??thanks :6:
i kinda pick half way between the middle and bridge pickup myself
I think it may depend on what kind of guitar you learned on. I always had some kind of humbucker guitar with the typical two pickups so I strummed and picked right in the middle where there is no pickup. Now that I play strats a lot 26 years later, I'm always buzzing that middle pickup with the pick, lol. As with anything, I ignored it and now it seems to have stopped all by itself, although where I actually pick and strum is in the same place.
