hi everyone...i have a fat strat, with a 59 in the bridge, and i'm looking to replace the other two pickups...i tried the SD tone wizard thing, and it recommended the vintage staggered and the hot/cool rail

basically what i'm looking for is a decent tonal versatility...i want to be able to play a variety of music, from alt rock to metal, but probably more on the classic rock side

what's the difference between putting the pickups in the neck and middle? how does that change the sound? what should i be looking for in these replacements?

thanks for your time,
/ed

Id probably go with two SSL1 vintage stagger Single Coils.

Or, if you're looking for a humbucker in the neck position, then maybe a little 59, and an SSL1 in the middle.

I recommend a Jon Moore humbucker:

Welcome to the forum.

It sounds like the Tone Wizard may have done a good job. A Vintage and a Cool Rails would complement that 59 real nice. I'd probably go for a Vintage Flat myself, but thats just me.

Edit: I should probably add my disclaimer - Don't let my post count fool you. I don't play professionaly, so take my comments with a grain of salt.
